This will be a series of posts related to my indoor container garden. I have 10 foot windows, which I hope will give the plants as much sunlight as they will need. Cool weather has yet to fully set in up here (although we’ve been having semi-chilly days), so I’m not too worried about warmth for the plants thus far. I’ve started all from seeds and I’m in the process of finding larger containers, transplanting, and beginning some cooler weather veggies.

What I’ve planted:
Tomatoes
Parsley
Basil
Thyme
Rosemary
Oregano
Lettuce

I started the tomatoes some time ago, and transplanted after moving into my new loft. They’re growing better than I imagined, and I hope to see some flowering very soon. Everything else has been started here in the loft from seeds. The basil and parsley have really taken off. Their flavors are strong and add a nice fresh herb element to dishes.

My next seeds to sow will be radishes and spinach. I have read that both are great to grow in containers and are nice additions to salads. Radishes germinate quick. So I will update once I have those planted.

I hope all will go well with my indoor vegetable garden, especially with the cooler days of autumn and winter getting closer.
